Well, it's raining here...which is very odd seeing how I'm in inland BC. God damn screwy weather. Anyways, Tina, the one sister from Calgary brought an old hot friend of mine, Meghan, over to burn CD's. Then I went to my cousin's and joined in on a risk party...and prompty lost two games being the first one out each game. Mostly due to HORRIBLE luck. I couldn't roll a six to save my life. Anyway...did some Tequila Slammers there. Note to self: Blanco Tequila sucks. Going to get my Irish passport photos taken tomorrow...along with grad pictures since I missed picture day. Wee. Anyway, that's my update. Seems that I'll update more than normal...or only when I'm bored.
|Update to Previous Post
Well, my the case of the small Grandparent's Gift has been solved. Seems they also sent a card with the box of chocolates...so I wasn't downgraded to "ousider family member" quite yet. Not that I judge my status on gifts...I'm not that shallow.
Well, this'll probably be my only update on this trip, as it's about halfway through. Here's my post-Christmas report.
Well, yet another unemployed year at Christmas, which means I feel like a shmuck who didn't give out presents. Ah well, I sure people'll get over it. As for what I received...well I got a SB Audigy 2, which means DVD-Audio and Dolby Digital with my 5.1 speakers. But I don't have a DVD drive, so my dad gave me his credit card Boxing Day and told me "Just go order yourself a DVD Drive...and a 50 stack of CDs."
Now, I don't have a CD Burner either, but my dad is ALSO getting me a good one of those. In other words, I'll have a DVD drive, new sounds card, and a CD burner plugged into my computer making it a media god...without high speed internet. That's priority #1
when I start my job in January.
Other than that, it's been pretty uneventful. The place I'm in is small and useless, with NOTHING to do. I did meet up with a couple old women-friends from Calgary who visit here...they're DAMN hot, but also they're taken. Damn. Ah well, they're better company than the local rednecks.
Oh, and those hot Calgary girls get their house to themselves for this weekend...which means PARTY! A little fun to take my mind off the UTTER AND TOTAL BOREDOM here. Seriously, I completed a rally race on GT3 backwards for the hell of it. But hopefully that'll change.
Anyway, that's how I'm doing now. I might be on IRC a bit, but if not I'll be back on the 7th. Feliz Navidad, Joyeux Noel and Merry Christmas, and have a bitchin' New Year.

|EGADS! It's media!
Well, I now have Lord of the Rings: FotR Extended Cut, Black Hawk Down, the Matrix, Requiem for a Dream and Se7en on CD, along with a selection of 500 of my MP3's. That should last me the 2 weeks I'll be from my computer and on some backwards hillybilly town no net computer. Yippee! I leave tomorrow! Current Mood: anxious

Alright, I'm in a little bit of a stump. I'm going to be adding an Audigy 2 to my computer come Christmas. I'm turning it into a super multimedia machine. But, after New Years I'm going to be employed. Can anyone suggest some good multimedia type attachments to save up for with my new job? I already have a 19" screen and Creative 5300 5.1 Speakers...so any other suggestions would be helpful. Current Mood: content
|Early Christmas Presents
Well, I got a few presents early this year, and seeing how I won't be bringing them on my trip I decided to open them early. Now, there were 3 presents, and all three were chocolates. Now, chocolates are good, and I don't want to seem like a selfish person, but there's just one thing that gets me. Last year from my Step-Grandparents I got two crisp $50 bills. This year I got a little $5 box of chocolates. Now, again chocolates are good and I'm happy for the gift, but it still confuses me how I feel so much in favour over one year. Answers? Current Mood: curious
Well, I went for a little walk to day to try to get out of my emotional slump. It really helped, especially at this time of year. The fact that the trees are frosted so that every branch is coated with white, and the Christmas decorations are out in full force reminded me that I only have to put up with people's bullshit for another 3 days. Well, Merry Christmas all. Current Mood: calm
|Monday, December 16th, 2002|
Well, here's to the end of another weekend devoid of social interaction. Basically, despite me making it quite clear that it was my last weekend here before my Christmas vacation, everyone else pretty well just ignored me, going off to do their own thing. So, I watched movies and yapped to people on IRC. This is not the more enjoyable weekend activity. But it happens all too often. My friends really never call me to do anything, relying on me to try desperately to find out what the fuck is going on. This usually leads to, despite my best efforts, me sitting on my computers doing diddly shit. Well, enough ranting, I'm going off somewhere else. Current Mood: aggravated

Well, chalk one more movie up on my all time top 10. Requiem for a Dream is AWESOME. Very sad, very well made. The camera work, the writing, everything is very well done. Definately go check it out. Current Mood: indescribable

|Finally an update!
Hey folks, just a few quick things to journal.
Going to British Columbia here in a little bit, to the Kootenays. If you've ever had Kokanee beer, well it's a little place right under the Kokanee glacier. Going to be there for two weeks or so, from the Dec 19th through to the 7th of January. Good long break from reality.
And speaking of reality, I'm going to be employed! A little graphics design firm here call Inkspirations is gonna hire me part time as a webdesigner. Which means vasts amounts of cash for little work! Yes! Can't wait till then...I'll be able to afford DSL, a MMORPG, DVDs, and other expensive geeky things. Plus save for travelling around Europe.
If I don't update before the 19th, I'll see you all after!
Merry Christmas and a Bitchin' New Year! Current Mood: anxious

Just finished watching Pulp Fiction. It is the best movie ever. Really it is. It's got everything except nudity. But nudity detracts from a good movie really when you think about it. A bouncing pair of breasts draws attention from the dialogue and plot development. But I must say Tarentino rocks.

I'm thinking of developing a website of somesort...I dunno what for. It could be for CS, or some other game, or maybe just make it an E/N site. Who knows, who cares. If anyone wants to get in on this doomed venture, just leave a comment...or an email...or your card. Leave something besides an explosive device please.
So after about a week, my computer finally came home...which means I'm stuck on dialup until this weekend, when I will go to a LAN party. Of note, we'll be playing Natural Selection, a cool new Half-Life mod involving alien/marine combat. Check it out here
Also of note, on the 12th the Lord of the Rings Extended Edition DVD will be release...which means I'll probably be shelling out close to $80 just to watch 30 minutes of edited scenes...ah geekism is bliss. Current Mood: content
|Friday, November 1st, 2002|
Well, it's now the weekend. Which means 2 days and 3 nights relief from school. It also means that I'll probably be doing some sort of mind altering drug, be it psilocybin or ethnynol. That's 'shrooms and alcohol to you laymans out there. Anyway, I must find some transportation to the party, so I must be off. Current Mood: relieved
The horrors of dialup are very very bad. I want to play this new Half-Life Mod, Natural Selection, but I can't due to the 90MB download and the fact I'd probably get maybe 250 ping to the servers...can't wait till the 15th when I'll try to get DSL...oh joy.

Anyway, the joyous occassion of sugar pumped kids, wanton mischief and gorey violence has come around again. This year my house is giving out full candy bars, which means I probably get to see the little bastards 10 times as much as any other once word gets around. At least it means more eats for me.
Well, now that I'm back on LJ, I think it's time for some customizing. Hence, I'm trying out my new pic. I hope this works...if it does then I'll work on color schemes. Current Mood: lethargic
|Monday, June 3rd, 2002|
Well, I'm building my Athlon XP 1800+ system, so hopefully I'll be back soon. Till then, all of you die.
|Monday, March 11th, 2002|
Well, I've got an estimated 2 hours to clean my house. Gotta get cracking.
